#222 - Sleeping on the couch - (theatrical_muse)

I've slept on many couches lately. And I do not imply that a lot of my relationships got to the point where I got kicked out of bed. I am talking road trip and hospitality here.

Couches tell the most amazing stories. You wouldn't believe the spiritual trace such a place of gathering and togetherness and spending time can leave. It was a very fulfilling and inspiring experience. Sometimes scratchy. But I preferred every single couch that was offered to me to any of the motel rooms.

Motel rooms don't have couches. I heard rumours stating the opposite but until I have seen it myself... what I am trying to say is that this proves how much a motel room lacks a soul. A couch is the soul of a house.

You eat on it. You sleep on it or take a nap. You read on it, you watch TV on it, you talk to friends on it. You do other stuff on it which I will not... detailize right now because you either know what I mean or you got a bigger problem than furniture. But there is no doubt: You'd be amazed by the positive energy of a couch.

I think I need to meditate on that matter further.

Shawn gets into position, in the mood to be all zen and ninja. And maybe to see how long Gus can take it.

The muscles in Gus's face start to twitch. But he bites down on his tongue to keep from saying something. It's perfectly obvious that Shawn is trying to bait him. Gus shifts and toes his shoes off, reaching for his cell phone he sends a message to Elaine that he'll be a little late today.

He's going to see this out. Even if it drives him insane.

"Ommmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm... For over 400 years the ninjas of California have found their wisdom and mental strength through the exhilarating yet crucial meditation, the unity of body and soul. We seek the enlightenment like so many masters before us, may their suntanned wisdom warm our hearts... ommmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm..."

Oh that's it. "Shawn! There are so many things wrong with that I can't even begin to, ninjas of california! not to mention 400 years. I'd like you to picture the states timeline with me now. It didn't become ratified as a state until 1850, and while yes, there were colonies and things before that, I really don't think that Spanish explorers had a secret collection of ninjas on their ships."

Gus twitches and then settles back into the couch. "Besides, some of us really don't ever have to worry about getting a suntan." He smirks.

"Dude, they're ninjas. Of course nobody would notice them!" Shawn retorts, looking stubborn. "They hid in the shadows, which is very hard in a sunny land like California, which is why they belong to the best."

Gus snorts and huffs and generaly makes a lot of unhappy sounds as he sits by Shawn. He folds his arms over his chest and tries to close his eyes and meditate again.

Shawn sits in silence for a moment as well, then looks over at Gus, his shoulders slumping. "Okay, this is not working. Your negative vibes are so blocking the path of zen with the big, ugly boulders of sulkiness!"

"My negative vibe?! That's rediculous. I can meditate just as well as you, Shawn."
